Dr. Yee was born and raised in the Los Angeles, CA area.  She attended UC San Diego for her BachelorÊ»s degree in Animal Physiology.  She earned her DVM at Oklahoma State University in 1999.  Upon graduation, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles.  While her concentration has been small animal general practice, she has worked in different aspects of veterinary medicine, including two feline-only hospitals, emergency clinics and teaching at a veterinary technician program.

Working in private practice for many years has given Dr. Yee insight into the bond pet owners have with their pets and strengthened her dedication to the preserving this bond until the end-of-life.  She developed a soft spot caring for senior and geriatric pets.  Because of this, she became passionate about helping owners navigate the issues of their aging pets and, when it came time for it, make the process of euthanasia as peaceful as possible.

When her pug Sally develop a degenerative spinal disease, Dr. Yee had to draw on her professional experience to help her through caring for a senior pet who had trouble walking and was urinary incontinent.  Once Sally's disease became more severe and she lost her "sass", Dr. Yee was grateful she was able to ease her suffering peacefully at home.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult decisions an owner can make.  Dr. Yee founded Gentle Passage to support owners with these decisions, create a comfortable and peaceful final moment with their pets, and celebrate the bond they shared with them.

Dr. Yee is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), Delta Veterinary Medical Association (DVMA), International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC).

She has completed additional professional training and received these certificates: Cat Friendly Veterinarian and Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian.

On a personal note, Dr. Yee resides in Elk Grove with her husband, 4 cats and a dog.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures and places, baking, fostering orphaned kittens, making different types of crafts, and hula dancing with her halau.
